Dear Parents of Children with Selective Mutism: We had a very fruitful and enriching meeting last week with a set of five parents of children with Selective Mutism. Parents of children from the ages of 3 to Elementary School were present, and after giving them information about Selective Mutism (such as current research, and clinical information), parents had innumerous questions to ask, and topics to share. It became even more clear to me that it is very important to educate not only parents but also educational and health professionals about Selective Mutism. Thus, I am having another meeting for parents as well as for professionals on the topic. Parents who attended previous meetings are welcome to return to talk about their children's progress and with information about their advocacy at school.
